Strategic Planning Session Guides Committee Into New Year

The following Carlsbad residents are members of the Carlsbad Sister Cities Committee, with term expiration. Those interested in serving on the Sister Cities Committee need to complete an application and forward it to the City Clerk's office to be considered by the mayor for appointment.

2008 Carlsbad Jo Karlovy Vary Vocal Competition: Invitation to Singers!
The call has gone out and, if you have a voice that sings, won't you please consider entering the Carlsbad to Karlovy Vary Vocal Competition that will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the Schulman Auditorium in Carlsbad.
This event is sponsored by the Carlsbad Sister Cities Committee.
A second place cash prize of $300 and third place prize of $200, alongwith two honorable mentions of $100 each will be awarded. The First Place Winner will represent Carlsbad in the 43rd International Antonin Dvorak Vocal Competition in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic. Travel arrangements, accommodations and a cash prize of $400 will be provided to the First Plaze Winner!
But, the first step in getting to Karlovy Vary begins right here in Carlsbad. For more information, contact Colleen Finnegan, Carlsbad Cultural Arts Office, (760) 434-2900 or cfinn@ci.carlsbad.ca.us.
Deadline for your application is Friday, February 8, 2008.
